Our story
Bamboo is a digital agency based in Wellington. We’re known for our impact and software delivery expertise and we help organisations develop strategies to achieve impactful outcomes.
Bamboo formed in August 2018 following a period of extended collaboration between Damian Sligo-Green, Dan Lewis and Iain Kirkpatrick who were a part of the Enspiral network - a bunch of people developing social ventures. Bamboo was the spiritual successor of two (now ceased) ventures, Root Systems and Golden Pandas. What sits between root systems and pandas? Bamboo.
Today, we work with corporates, social enterprises, charities and government clients to develop capabilities, strategies and systems that help them enhance their impact. Our small team is growing and we’re on the lookout for smart, curious, impact focused people (and organisations) to work with.

Damian loves complex systems and understanding the people and moments that hold the greatest potential for activating change. Damian draws on his experience working in financial services and a decade of helping Impact-led organisations develop strategies, systems and tools to scale their impact.
Dan Lewis
Solution Architect & Business Consultant
Dan started adulthood studying Architecture and Design, but pivoted to technology as a better foundation to start small businesses that could scale and deliver meaningful change. Dan spent his 20s working in the disability sector and taught himself programming while working night shifts, he is driven by the ambition of using technology to improve peoples lives.
Gabrielle Young
Senior Developer
Gabrielle is passionate about the craft of software development, and a big fan of domain driven design. She strives to build software in close collaboration with users and clients, to produce delightful and useful results.

Aiko is passionate about creating applications that enhance lives. With experience at an NGO dedicated to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi, driven by a deep concern for individual well-being, she strives to utilise technology for impactful and positive purposes.
